Who we are

Referra is an Australian platform being built to give people a portable, candidate-owned reference profile they can use across employment, rental, educational, and other contexts. We're currently in pre-launch.

• This privacy policy covers the referra.au website and waitlist only. It explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site or join our waitlist, how we use it, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect and why

Waitlist Sign up

When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. We use this to:

   Send you updates about Referra's progress and launch
   Let you know when early access becomes available
   Occasionally ask for your feedback to help shape the product

We won't email you about anything unrelated to Referra. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

We use analytics tools in the future to understand how people find and use our site. This may collect information such as your approximate location, device type, browser, and pages visited. If we do, we will update this policy accordingly.

We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.

If you contact us directly (for example by email), we'll collect your name, email address, and any information you choose to share. We use this only to respond to you.

How we store and protect your information

Your email address is stored securely using Mailerlite. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

We retain waitlist data until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until we no longer need it for the purpose it was collected.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
Service providers who help us operate the site or send emails (for example, our email platform), who are bound by confidentiality obligations
Authorities, if required by law

We will not share your information for marketing purposes with any third party.
